In this modern age where stay-at-home parents are a rarity and competition for jobs and promotions is tough, it’s no wonder that stress levels have risen and our workforce is becoming increasingly aware of their own mental and physical wellbeing.
As the desperate search for a better work-life balance continues, I frequently find myself in discussions with people struggling to find an employer that offers flexibility and recognises the value of nurturing their employees through the early years of raising a family.
Despite there being many allowances to support parents at work, these are rarely promoted within a business, leaving parents exhausted and fearful about communicating the needs of their family and requesting flexibility or time off work.
